If we ever intend to understand God, we must first understand that He is holy. Holiness, above all else, is His foremost attribute. There is no way fallen mankind could ever ascend to His holiness. Jesus came as a bridge between humanity and divinity. The Son of God (God in Christ) came to reconcile us back to God. He is the way, the truth and the life. Only through “Him can we come to know God. And only if we really know God, can we expect to dwell with Him in the Holy City. Truly, the writer of Hebrews understood the importance of holiness when he wrote these words; 

“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:14) 

There are two pathways in the Bible. One is the narrow way that leads to life eternal, the path to glory. The other is a broad way that leads to destruction, the pagan pathway. The choice is really very simple. We will travel on one road or the other.
